Hello everyone and salam to our muslim members.

I know I've been saying this over and over and over and over again and I might bore you with all the the apologies during the past months but yes I have to say it again now. On behalf of the team, we are terribly sorry for everything. honestly saying this site has been out-dated for quite awhile. but mind you for those who said that LTR's dead. not really though. in a way it looks dead but it's actually still around. only that we are trying our best to keep this thing alive for years to come and to meet our fans needs. with our work power (3 person) running LTR at the moment and due to commitments and responsibilities outside LTR management are really high, we are unable to actually come up with long term solutions. not yet. but we're still trying our best. We thank each and every members who has been contributing a lot to this website via chat box, blog post, videos, etc so that it doesn't look 'dead'. we appreciate your support on this. To the others outside LTR, thanks for all the support as we had some interesting feedbacks from others and we took that into account. But yes, please do understand. I can assure everyone that LTR will be around for a very long time as it has been around for 5 years.

Hello to all members and visitors of LTR.

first of all to start things of, we would like to wish everyone a happy new year (I know it's late already but what the heck) and we wish all local bands all the best for 2010 may you have achieve success for this new year. Sorry again for the lack of updates regarding the local music scenes as the people in LTR's management are quite busy for the past few months with studies and workloads so we don't really have much time to catch up with the local music scenes. But nonetheless, since this is the new year we'll try our best to make things happen. To start things of, is by frequently updating this website.

And by this, we would like to thank everyone especially the members of LTR for the support during the past few years and thank you so much with the contributions in form of videos, blog post and forums. LTR salute you.

As you all know (some atleast) VIMA2010 is just around the corner. even though it is not a local music event but one of our local band was nominated for the most electrifying-Exciting-Exhilarating LIVE Act VIMA2010, but sadly they didn't won. From LTR to DHask, don't give up guys. At least you guys got nominated. Try again and just to let you know that we got your back and we'll support you all the way.

LTR as well would like to take this opportunity to thank BIM (Brunei's Independent Music)for their support and all those information regarding local music scenes especially to Rita. All the best BIM!

Criteria for submission:

1. All submitted songs must have been released between January 1st 2009 until January 1st 2010
2. All submitted acts must be independent artistes not signed up as a recording artiste with any major recording labels (Warner,Universal or Sony). However, the artiste is eligible to submit any song or album distributed by a major label.
3. Acts submitting songs for AVIMA 2010 MUST be Asian or a permanent resident in Asia.

GBOB Challenge - Global Battle of the Bands

The GBOB Challenge is open to all bands and also to Brunei bands whether unsigned or signed to a record label.

GBOB is back again and this year we welcoming our new neighbor Brunei Darussalam as approved by Matt the Director for GBOB. So far we have DHask from Brunei to represent Brunei itself and they are ready to battle with other Asia bands from Malaysia & Indonesia. DHask has been around in in music scene since 1999 and perform in many shows. Currently DHask nominated for VIMA 2010 in Malaysia too.

DHask will be battling out with other bands in Borneo Rainforest, Sunway on 30th October for GBOB Malaysia.

Hi, We are pleased to invite you to send your nominations for the upcoming AVIMA 2010 indie music awards (Asia’s First Independent music awards) .(deadline for song submissions are on November 15th, 2009)

The AVIMA 2010 is a unique awards event that may be held at a venue or if there are budgets or logistical shortages, will then be a global webcast show. The current venues being explored for the event to be held is Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing or Singapore.

The event is open to any act that is geographically located in Asia and so far we have had more than 150 songs sent in for nominations from countries like Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Korea, India, the middle east and Taiwan.

Do email us your songs to editor@voize.my to be nominated in mp3 format or any readable format. You may also point us to your download sites at myspace, amp,youtube or even your own website.

AVIMA 2010 is organized by the Asian lifestyle and entertainment website http://www.facebook.com/l/ffb85;Voize.my (www.voize. my). The company is based in Malaysia, and intends to champion the rights of independent bands all over Asia. First of all, we would like to apologize to everyone for no recent updates since April and we are truly sorry for that. This is because there is actually not much events going on for the past few months other than private performances. We received a lot of feed backs during the past few months which to us is something that we need to focus on right now and LTR's now trying to re-organize everything to meet viewer's demands and needs.

To start things off, on the forum section there's a discussion entitled Suggestions. Viewers could drop their thoughts there on what should LTR do to meet the viewers demands.

Greetings to all members. First of all, we would like to apologize to all the members for the lack of updates. The reason being is that the administrators were busy gathering and finding some informations on what's going on in the local music (bands) industry currently.

Cool. we got that one covered. To start things of. Lets talk about bands. Well, a lot of people asked us "where's the gig?" "nada gig lagi kah?" "No more live bands?". Well, here's the answer to all of your answers. Actually, most bands in Brunei nowadays, they only do performance for private parties. For example, like birthday parties.

There's this one band, LTR watched them performed live a few times already and they have this potential to be one of best bands in Brunei. The band consist of 5 members, Keem (Bassist), Yean (vocals), Zul (Lead guitarist), Ashf (2nd Guitarist, keyboardist) and Nurul (drummer). They call themselves, Thermal Collision. correct me if im wrong guys. The admins actually saw them performed a few times and we have to say that they are very good. With concepts and influenced by evanescence and the showmanship they have, they seriously kick ass. Check them out. The vocalist have some videos of her singing at youtube. check it out :D

As the management said before, due to the main objective of this site is to support our local bands, we would like to remind all members not to post/upload unrelated videos, songs, etc such as international bands, other genres (RnB, hiphop, etc) or anything related. And we would like to inform all members that there should not be any Anti-groups (bands, genre, people, etc) as this may lead to arguments and dissatisfaction among members.

Take note that if the admin found those above mentioned (unrelated songs, videos, etc), we will immediately delete or ban it from the website as it is against our objectives and reasons for creating this site. Videos or songs of Local Bands playing cover songs are most welcome to be uploaded.

LTR's back with a new update
On the 28th June 2008, Kemuda Institute in collaboration with Brunei Darussalam Aids Council (BDAC) will be hosting a charity dinner & concert. The venue will be at Asma Hotel, Jerudong and the dinner will start at 7:30pm and will approximately end around 11pm. On that very night, 4 local bands will be performing to show their supports. Bands that will perform on that night will be I Mean The Snake, A Band Once, Not Famous and Priaikhlas. Other performing artists for the occasion are Hans Anwar, Maria and Putri Norizah.

Do you guys know Rockstar studio that is located at delima one row with hua ho? well, here's a new info for you guys. 4 Aces studio which was at Melabau complex serusop before, took over rockstar studio. So now the jamming studio at delima now is no longer rockstar's.

As you all now, before 4 Ace studio offered $10 per hour jamming session. Now they have a new offer for all bands! $15 for 2 hours jamming session. how cool is that? with new stuffs available and more. try them out :D

Lets start off with Grandpa Jones Studio. This studio is one of the oldest music studio in Brunei Darussalam and they were involved in several music-related events such as Rock the garden (2002), Keep on rocking (2002) and Rock and rhytm nite (2003). One of the band that successfully developed by Grandpa Jones was Ziggy pop. Other bands like innersense also jam at Grandpa jones. second update will be about Udi with skunk corpse. Udi is one of brunei's talented composer/musician. currently, he's working on a solo project with a team of hired session musicians, the skunk corpse. for all their hard word and efforts, they produced an independent cover album. you all can check the songs out and more about them at their purevolume. just go to http://purevolume.com/udiwithskunkcorpse or you can click here.

third update is about Roccus Clothing. for those who does not know what is roccus clothing, its a brand new clothing line which started during the late 06. they are specialized in limited edition black T's and they also can do custom made T's. specially designed by Brunei's talented designer. have u guys checked out their video yet at youtube? the video's called Roccus Commercial teaser. check it out~~ :D

Upcoming Band performance

16th February 2008, there will be a band performance at Hua Ho Manggis Ballroom. According to some sources, it is a Gala Night to celebrate valentine's day. That night, there will be some band performance by 3 local bands. Source said that the bands that will be performing that night will be plan the exit, a band once and the other band, still waiting for confirmation. so for now the other band remains unknown.

It is open to public. If intrested, tickets will be $26 for single and 50 for couple.

Its a few hours left till the Pelangi awards starts and it seems like some local music lover can't wait for the event. What makes the event special is that it happens only once in 2 years. a little bit of details about tomorrow's event.

REVIEW: THE BROS GIG "THE COMEBACK"

Last Saturday a gig called The Bro's Gig "The comeback" once again held at TT Blues Cafe, Gadong. The gig was organized by Urban Touches Entertainment, Roccus Clothing And JD & Friends Entertainment and also Sponsored by SKMO Production House, TT Blues Cafe And AKF Entertainment.

It started at 8pm and the first band to performed was Incorporate Behaviour with songs from Gym Class Heroes.I don't know the name of the songs.heh xD. Anyways it was my first time to see a band covered Gym Class Heroes songs,the sound quality was not very good.The vocal sound was not verry clear and I can barely hear the second guitar but the bass guitar was too louddd. But overall they gave a good performance.

Second band to performed was Odium Treason, a three piece band. Their first song was Outside by Staind, it was a shame that the guitar wasn't very clear except for the bass. The second song was Cold by Crossfade. They called one of their friends to be the backup vocal and it was well played, third song was Back To Black by AC/DC. By that time the guitar was a lot clearer and through the half of the song, they played Like Light To The Flies by Trivium and it was well executed.

The third performance was by Y.E.S.(Young Eastern Soul) a 5 piece group (reminds me of Westlife or N'Sync) They got a lot of supporters and their first song, unfortunately the dj put a wrong cd. They sang mostly chinese pop and R&B songs.

The next performance was a drum solo performance by Paul from
Not Famous/Visions 13/Incorporate Behaviour. He played with a speed( Dont judge him by looking at his body structure) i liked at the end part of his performance tho=D.

Next The legend Kamal'Loko'(H8) did a drum solo as well,
His performances consisted of heavy hitting drums with good co-ordinations and at one point
one of the cymbals felt onto him and someone had to pushed the drumkit back hehe, I enjoyed
his performance a lot, an excellent one~.

After him Y.E.S. performed again this time with Paul playing the drums and Kamal played the bass. Their last song was a dedication to TT Blues Cafe with a good beat like a mixture of heavy rock and funk. After them, Paul did a 40 second drums solo while Kamal was setting up the guitar. As soon as the setup done Kamal told us that he's gonna play a song that he made with Paul called "Loko mexicana" which was a mixture of metal and Mexican music, a pretty good song with fast beats of drums and good guitar riffs. Overall a good performance by the two guys.

Visions 13 Performed next and i liked the first performance which the sound of one of the guitars was low and the bass was LOUD ! Really loud. They covered songs from Angels & Airwaves - Everythings magic, Adam forgot some of the lyrics and he even admitted it (hehe sokay bro) , because of a throat problem his voice was not very clear. Then second song was performed which i didnt remember what it was, SORRY! erk hehehehehehehe. The 3rd song was their own song called "The Journey" and again the sound quality disappoints me ALOT.

Then Y.E.S. performed again, after that Kamal introduced Zul Aces from Tutong.He did a drum solo and he's an excellent drummer INDEED~. Then Kamal and Paul came up at the stage again, and Kamal was hiting a big bottle while Paul played with the snare. GREAT performances by the three guys ! THUMBS UP GUYS ! I enjoyed it alotttttttttttttttt. The next band was well I forgot the band name (sorryyyy ehe) They played Perfect by Simple Plan, a couple of mistakes but a good performance. The second song was What I've Done by Linkin Park, the crowd sang on the chorus. I noticed some mistakes on the drum parts. The third song was.....SWEET CHILD 'O MINE BY GUNS 'N ROSES ! a couple of mistakes again but we LOVED IT ALOT =D a hard cover to play but they managed to nail it, the fourth and last song from them was THE TROOPER by IRON MAIDEN YEAHH! UP THE IRONS ! Excellent cover, it was well played but the vocals were'nt that clear and the sound crew was getting on my nerves heh ~.

The last performance was by .. uhh I forgot again(HEHE) their first song was Rose Of Sharyn by Killswitch Engage and then Master of Puppets by Metallica, they just played it instrumentally without vocals to both of the songs, I sang along to Master Of Puppets but they didn't finish both of the songs what a shame but a good performance by them.

Well thats all from me, sorry if this review is kinda crap cause I AM FREEKING TIRED.
hehehe and a BIG sorry to all the bands that i've forgotten their names:S but Overall a lot bands played good songs today. I Hope our local talents will be improved !

World Aids Day @ICC

World AIDS Day was marked on the 1st of december 2007 yet Brunei Darussalam Aids Council has marked Brunei's version of world aids day occasion yesterday which the Theme of the event was "Kepimpinan: Bercakap & Bertindak". It was held at ICC in conference hall room 2, from 2 to 4.30pm and was open to public. The Guest of honor was the Deputy Minister of Health, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hazair Bin Hj Abdullah with an additional information that Ibrahim Abu Bakar as the sound technician and DJ Dafi was there too! ^_^ Zhahaha

The event started with some talks and after that was a poetry read by Rikiana from one of the Brunei Darussalam AIDS council. As soon as the poetry ends, 7 performances were made by the youth including live band shows , singing and dancing but then.. since I lost the schedule T_____T . . I can only remember some details from the youth performers.

The performers are as follows :

1st Performance was from Ayaaq from JIS. They played two songs, Switchfoot-Dare you to move & maliq and dessentials -Untitled.

2nd Performance was from Schizophrenix who played Maroon 5 - She will be loved & one other song.

3rd Performance was from Odium Treason ; played Puddle of Mud - Blurry & Staind - Outside.

4th Performance was from Sane Asylum also played two songs, which were Evanescence - My Immortal & Guns 'n' Roses - Sweet Child of Mine.

For the 5th ,6th and 7th performance, I can only remember that it was performed by a singer without bands playing.

Lastly, the AIDS council gave their last poetry before we all sang some song which one of them was "We are the World" song.
It was then ended very well with people taking group photos. Alright thats all for now =D

REVIEW: ISB BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2007

Hallo Guys! i'm teribbly sorry for the late update guys. i got flatten tire the other day. lol.but anyhoo, i'm sure you guys
have heard about the recent battle of the bands at ISB, yeaa? Okay lets just take a brief
recall.

Among those bands who had participated that day - 7 minutes Of fame, Stealing seconds, The kicks, Mota,
Main Menu, etc; (Tool, Program, Edit. HAHAHAHA kidding.); Stealing seconds got their heads up on the first place
followed by 7 minutes Of Fame. And not to be forgotten, guest bands are also invited to boost up and support those bands who battled for the champion. Proudly to be mentioned, those bands are IMTS & Karacoma. Here's some closure to the Battle of the band, enjoy the pictures.Sweet~=D

ISB BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2007

REVIEW: INSURANCE CARNIVAL DAY 2007

On Sunday, 28th October 2007, a one day roadshow took place at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex which was called the Insurance Day 2007 Carnival. The theme for the carnival is "i-protect" organized by General Insurance Association of Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Ministry Of Finance.

The entertainment on that very day organized by Cruz Multimedia Production whereby 8 local bands came to perform and show their support for the insurance day while entertaining the crowds. Approximately at 10am, the carnival was officially launched by the guest of honour ,Hajah Rosni Bte Hj Tungkat(there are some change in plans. the guest of honour was suppose to be Pehin Adanan).

By 10.15 am the show kicked off by Skavoo, followed by 7 other bands like X-Suiciders, Iron Dragon, Karacoma and more. Some bands were given 45mins to perform while some they were given a slot of 50 to 60 mins just to fit the time schedule. Besides local bands performance, there were also a couple of booths of insurance companies, financial institutions as well as car distributors and security companies and coloring contest for kids, etc

After All, it was an average carnival whereas it was raining on that day, it was good to see that many crowds came and support the carnival as well as the bands. To all the bands u guys rocked the carnival for putting up a good show and it is good to see that there are local bands in Brunei that support this kind of event, Although there was a couple of bands were very unfortunate due to some technical problems. but the good point is u guys got the courage to play and gave your best shot in-front of many people in an open public area.

Lastly, We're looking forward for this kind of event in the near future & we'll be keep on supporting it. Alright till the next review.
